Die Laughing at these Flasher Halloween eCards

They’re Baaack! That’s right the ever popular and somewhat politically incorrect Flasher Halloween eCards are back. Blue Mountain has updated their political Halloween eCard to feature your favorite 2008 political party representative, Barack Obama or John McCain. Whether you are a Republican or Democrat, this Halloween eCard will surely scare your socks off, or have you laughing hysterically at the satire encompassing this Halloween eCard; after all, it is politics!

Ok, so it’s really easy, go to Blue Mountain, view both the Republican and Democrat Halloween eCards and make sure to watch for the end…the best part! Pick your favorite Halloween eCard, and then send. Send to your friends, relatives, neighbors, acquaintances, I could go on, but I won’t. Do it to raise their blood pressure, or do it to make them laugh.

And don’t forget to register to vote! Registration ends as early as October 4^th in some states so do it soon!

My first Hari Raya Ecard

Finally I can give my first hari raya ecard to my friends. I make it by myself for the first time using macromedia flash. I really want to upload my ecard here but I can't do that because the file type does not meet security guidelines :( Hopefully all my friends enjoy my ecard. Ok, I wish 'Selamat Menyambut Hari Raya' to all muslims ^_^

eCards: The Future of Cards?

Most internet users will have received or sent an eCard at some point in their lives. But what is the real benefit? Well, for one thing, they're free and you can control when they arrive (most services allow you to choose). But some people don't check their emails daily or have access to them. Another plus point is that you can design them personally and make them have animations or sing. Having funny cards like those can be really expensive when bought as a paper card. For instance, I bought my sister a singing card for her birthday out of Woolworths and it cost over £5.00.

There are benefits if you just send the card in the post though, as if you are giving the receiver a gift voucher then there would be no point sending them an eCard and then posting the voucher. This may be an idea for shops which offer a gift card service: send eCards off their site whilst paying for a gift voucher to be sent electronically. ECards are however eco-friendly and handy if the receiver is away on holiday when it's their birthday.

I am going to try to send more eCards but there still is something nice sending them in the post. And there's always the hope that there will be a tenner sitting inside the card that you receive!

Research has shown that the quality and nature of your friends are one of the key influencing factors in achieving happiness, self esteem, and satisfaction. Friends often affect the health and energy of a person as well. More and more people are increasingly turning towards their friends for support and mutual sharing rather than communicating to their relatives; and this sociological phenomenon has escalated the desire to make more friends. Though friendship is an impulsive relationship developed between two autonomous individuals marked by a voluntary, emotional and mutual concern, but there are certain steps, which, if implemented can win you friends or at least help you get close to those whom you want to make your friends.

The first step to make friends with someone is to make them like you. If they don’t like you in the first place, it is unlikely that they’ll be eager to become your friends. To let someone know that you are genuinely interested in them, simple gestures like a little smile and calling him by his name can lay the basic foundation. To make the other person feel important you need to be a good listener and encourage the other person to talk. Give your honest and sincere opinion but do not overtly criticize or make fun of him or her.

The second step of making someone your friend is to develop a mutual consideration between each other. You need to share his or her perspective and for that it is necessary for you to develop an inclination to see things from the other person’s point of view. To become best of friends you must show a genuine concern and consideration for your friend’s desires and opinions.

The third and final step towards friendship is to show your unconditional support and encouragement towards your friend. Moreover, you also need to be very clear about your expectations from your friend. If what you expect from the person you want to befriend, matches with what that person can and want to contribute in friendship, the developing friendship between you and your friend is assured to flourish, making both of you gratified with mutual emotional bonding.

Friendship has overwhelming significance on both social and individual level. Friendship doesn’t only provide us with emotional as well as utilitarian support but it also helps us to improve our personal identities. So it is quite natural to feel the urge to reach out and make new friends, expanding your friend’s circle. Using the internet and the associated services like free friendship ecards come as a natural extension to this escalating aspiration. Friendship remains familiar yet quite ambiguous for our deeper understanding of this elusive relationship but then again, friends remain the most important ingredients in the recipe of life!

E-card Raya

You know, it’s flattering to see your work on display sometimes. When you look at it, you somehow feel that you and your work are being appreciated. Don’t you think so? Well, that’s exactly how I felt when I looked at my work on display at Sime Darby’s website.

Got the final email bout last week saying that they’ve accepted the design and the background music. After going back and forth trying to decide on that. It was a tough one alright. It’s a ‘Hari Raya’ e-card…but they don’t want to have the background music associated with ‘hari raya’. Meaning they wanted some other traditional Malay song. Me? Traditional Malay song? Wow! What a challenge.

So I had to ransack my dad’s cupboard looking through his CD’s. Going through one by one when finally I found some interesting traditional songs CD. Hooray! Ripped, listened, selected and send.

Basically, Raya e-card is done for now. Raya money will be coming in soon…*smiles*

Have gotta start with the Deepavali e-card. Back to square one I guess. It’s back to tracing, coloring, animating, synchronizing, etc etc. And after that…Christmas e-card…and finally…Chinese New Year. And let’s hope there’s more coming after that. Like, who wouldn’t want extra money right?

So where do I look for some traditional Indian songs??…hmmm….any ideas??

And oh, if any of you guys from Sime Darby happen to bump onto my blog and thinks that I should take this article down...do tell...who knows...private and confidential matter or something...

And for those of your who needs an animated raya card. I wouldn't mind doing it though. But I do have a minimal charge though. And it also depends on the difficulty. E mail me if you're interested...ezrankamal@gmail.com and I'm sure we can work something out...

This Thursday's class was all about forms, and it's surprising how simple it is for PHP to collect data from a form.

Luke introduced us to the ecard brief, which is something I might have a try at. Also I think I have some ideas for my two quizzes.

Celebrate Today! Aloha Day!

It’s Aloha Day Everyone! With a “celebrate the date” eCard we recognize August 12^th for the day the U.S. annexed Hawaii back in 1898. Now most of you don’t know the importance of this day so let me fill you in just a bit. Until this particular day Hawaii had remained a Monarchy for hundreds of years. It was on this day however, that the U.S. signed treaties with Queen Lilioukalani to turn her kingdom into a republic. This was a very sad day for the Queen as she watched the Hawaiian flag be lowered for the last time, and the American Flag rose in its place.

I know this is kind of a bittersweet history lesson brought to you by celebrate the date eCards but we must remember that without this annexation, Hawaii may not have grown to the great economy and resource it is today.

This Aloha Day eCard is here to remind the importance and impact these historical anniversaries have on our world. So on this date lets commemorate Hawaii for what it has endured throughout history and for the wonderful things it stands for today. I hope this celebrate the date eCard brings about a greater appreciation for the things that aren’t often seen as significant milestones in history.

Sturm-Wurm mit neuen Grußkarten-Mails

Sturm-Wurm ist wieder aktiv. Das Botnet verschickt aktuell wieder Grußkarten per eMail um Rechner für das Botnet zu rekrutieren.

Der Betreff lautet zum Beispiel "Here is your Ecard" und verweist auf Domains die zwar nach Ecards klingen, aber erst kürzlich registriert wurden.

Die Domains verlinken auf Zombie-Rechner im Botnet welche die Webseite bereitstellen. Die Webseiten sind derzeit schlicht und nur ein Text-Link verweist auf die Ecard.

Sollte man 3 Sekunden auf der Seite bleiben wird die Datei "postcard.exe" zum Download angeboten. Die 92 KB große Datei enthält Sturm-Wurm Malware und bindet den Rechner in das Botnet ein.

Varianten des Drive-by-Download sind allerdings nicht festellbar. Dabei werden Sicherheitslücken, über ein im Iframe verschleierten Javaskript Code, ausgenutzt und der Schädling eingespielt.

Die aktuelle Erkennung der Sturm-Wurm Malware durch Antivirenprogramme ist gut. Nur kleinere Anbieter haben ihre Probleme mit dem sich ständig ändernden Code der Malware.
